Flint Golf Club offers swimming lessons for children as young as three years old. The FGC coaching staff is trained and experienced in promoting safe swimming techniques. Swimmers will learn familiarity with water and stroke introduction. Swim lessons are adjusted to the specific level of each swimmer to ensure lessons are effective.
The FGC Swim Team participates with Genesee Interclub, competing in seven meets during eight weeks. The league is competitive but the emphasis is FUN! Instruction is provided by qualified, experienced coaches. The FGC Swim Team offers special events for the whole family throughout the season such as Team Breakfasts/Dinners, Flick N' Floats, various games, Poster Spirit Parties, and other enjoyable experiences. Adam Cooper began coaching at Flint Golf Club in 1991. He has also been the head coach of the Flint Falcons since 1995. Coach Cooper was named to the 2014-2015 US National Team coaching staff. Cooper traveled to Dubai in 2013 as a coach of the 18 & Under World Championship Team. He was also a member of the National Junior Team Coaching Staff from 2011-2014. In 1996, Adam was an Assistant Coach for the USA Swimming Michigan Central Zone Team, then in 1999 he was the Head Coach of that team. Adam has coached numerous State, Zones, and National Champions in his career, as well as several All-Americans. Adam graduated from Oakland University in 1994, where he was a member of the swim team. Adam lives in Grand Blanc with his wife, Angie, and his three sons Garren, Connor, and Owen.
Coach Cooper also staffs the FGC Swim Team with some of the top young adult swimmers in the area.
